Hello Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone on here lived in this area bordering San Lorenzo. It looks like they have been building it up a lot in the last 5 years. I have lived in Hayward off of Tennyson for a year and it was OK but not the greatest. I'm looking to rent a place over by the new Target and Skywest golf course. How is it over there? I've lived in the bay area my whole life and have worked and lived in Hayward, San Jose, Fremont, Union City (grew up in Fremont though). I'm hoping its better then the Tennyson area where I used to live (by Russ Park). The 4th of July was almost like a war zone (but cool to watch LOL). I'm in my mid-20's and have no kids. Just going to school and working full time. What do you all think?

Thanks!!

I would avoid this area. West Sunset can be rough. The area directly north of A Street and east of Hesperian is technically "unincorporated" Hayward and is served by the Alameda County Sheriff's Department. This area is called "Hesperian Acres."

Where the Target and Golf Course is, is perfectly fine. However there isn't any housing.

You might as well look into San Lorenzo. San Lorenzo is safer than the Ruus Park area of Hayward.

Hemm... West Sunset is pretty rough huh? That's where I was looking too. I went there around lunch and ate down the street just to see how it was, didn't notice anything to bad. I don't mind little high school punks, its more the crackheads I worry about.

Well it sounds like your tolerance is pretty high. If that's the case, it might not be that bad. I have noticed that there are a lot of people unrefined people walking around. Also, the bus stop on Hesperian (by Casear's Chicken) is usually full of punk high school kids. There's also a continuation high school up the street - Royal Sunset Continuation High School. Royal Sunset - sounds like a cruise line doesn't it?
