Marijuana is available by quite a few delivery services but I would think most people go to the Oakland dispensaries (There are none in Contra Costa County). I would recommend Purple Heart Patient Center if you're looking for one. Concord feels like a pretty even mix of white trash and Hispanics with just the lightest sprinkling of people you'd actually want to hang out with. I'll take the average hard working Hispanic, even if I don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English, over my concealed gun toting neighbors who brag like it's cool about shooting deer in a local public park. There are some nicer parts of town but Concord has long committed itself to lower middle and low income people. As another poster said the schools are below average with lots of behavioral problems. The local politicians are bought and paid for by any party who will toss them a couple of bucks. There aren't many well paying jobs in Concord itself but you have adequate access to jobs in San Francisco and along the 680 corridor.

It boils down to this. You get attracted to the area because of the more or less reasonably priced housing and the area seems nice when you first move there then it rapidly gets on your nerves. Most of the people you meet who talk about how great the area is are long time residents who are remembering how Concord was instead of how it is.
Excellent and accurate post about Concord.

Concord would be something like Clairemont Mesa or Mira Mesa in SD except more Hispanics, it has that same middle to lower middle class feel with some nicer neighborhoods thrown in.
