I was actually looking at these and they are REALLY nice. Main issue is the HOA's are like $700. Are there any other condo's in Oakland that are similar in terms of Views, Amenities and Finishes, but not so expensive? I know they are pricing these as "Luxary" condo's but I still think these are over priced.

You need to give more details if you want a comparison such as bedrooms, bathrooms, price and sq ft.

Not that I've seen

The only other downtown/uptown options that come remotely close are Broadway/Grand and the Uptown Place condos, but they aren't nearly as polished.

The Ellington is trying to be the premier address in Oakland, so it has the biggest set of amenities. (And is very expensive)

You can look around at some of the other JLS district condos, they are closest in terms of amenities.

Personally, I like the MArket Square Condos. The views aren't as good, but the amenities are very good and the association fees aren't ridiculous either. I like Uptown Place as well. I think Broadway Grand is overpriced with crappy layouts and doesn't have great finishes, unless the significantly improved since I visited a few years ago.

You can always rent at the Uptown or the Grand if you just want amenities.

The Sierra on 3rd has a pool and is quite nice, maybe on par with the Ellington.

Thanks for the suggestions I'm looking at 2 bed 2 bath places. Wood floors, Stainless appliances, granite. Don't want to pay more than 400K. Prefer Downtown/uptown/Temescal etc closer to BART
