Dude like I said, you should write some stories for Time Magazine about your experience in hardcore South LA gangs from all the way where you live in Oakland CA 500 miles away.

You could make up... err... recall stories about thousands of hardcore guys with automatic weapons charging at each other in empty warehouses with bullets going off right by your ear, as you see your comrades in arms go down with bullet wounds. Maybe Steven Seagal will read your stories... err... personal experiences about L.A gangs and make a movie from them. You could be rich!

Of course, the LAPD would like to know about this since all indicators based on facts show that violent crime and gang activity have continued to go down year after year for the past decade in L.A, and violent crime in L.A is the LOWEST of any major city in the U.S as of June 2012 including S.F, San Jose, and even NYC!:
L.A. has lowest crime among big U.S. cities, midyear figures show - latimes.com

They obviously don't have the "inside resources" that you do.

Maybe it's because I don't have friends in hard core South LA and East LA gangs on the streets engaged in this organized gang war that rivals the Johnny Torrio vs Dean O'Banion prohibition war of 1923. Man, I think Nineties Flava could win a Pulitzer prize if he decided to pen his war stories for Time Magazine or something.

Yeah, it's not like what I'm saying hasn't already been corroborated by other Oaklanders and news sources alike Continue to be willfully ignorant if you like though.

And once again for the record, the main difference between turfs and gangs is that gangs recruit and turfs don't. Two gangs that started in LA can be found in literally every state in the country. You will never find an Oakland turf outside of Oakland.

Unlike you I have family in South LA. Some of them are gang members. Me saying there's a fundamental difference between street crime in LA and street crime in Oakland is a statement of the reality I've seen in LA as opposed to Oakland. Continue to think you're a riot though.

Maybe Oakland "turf crews" should consider copying L.A murder gangs so the crime isn't so pure and concentrated. I like how L.A exports it's organized gang crime so that it's more diluted, resulting in a much lower crime rate. Kind of like adding more water to the kool-aid mix than recommended. Less potent, you know?

That's by far the most ignorant statement I've read all day. You like how LA has helped propagate meaningless divisions in black neighborhoods around the country that have claimed thousands of lives for nothing? Why am I not surprised smh.

Really? Has "L.A" done that? Or have the blacks living in those neighborhoods created the gang violence themselves?

I'm not sure "L.A" is responsible for anything. Is L.A responsible for Oakland's state topping homicide rate too?

LA gangs - more specifically Bloods and Crips - played a very significant role in popularizing gang culture around the country in the late 80's and 90's, although perhaps the blame for that can be more accurately attributed to Hollywood and the music industry. While they're not responsible for people in other cities deciding to claim Blood and Crip (unless they specifically recruited them) they did help spread gang culture. Interestingly they tried to set up shop in Oakland but couldn't penetrate the existing turf culture.

How come it didn't penetrate and become popular within white neighborhoods?
