Hello everyone.
New to this forum, but have always known about it.

Anyways, I am visiting from Palm Springs and would like to know where is a good spot/garage to park my car at.
I most likely would be spending 5+ hours walking and going up in down the city and would like to take the bus, cable cars, BART to move around instead of using my car.

Thanks

No where. Take a lot of money with you, depending on the garage, it can run you over $10/hour. Park in some outlying area and take BART or a bus into town. Best bet imo...

Park at the BART/Caltrain Millbrae station and take BART into the city. The airport is nearby and there are also lots of motels/hotels in the area, some with free shuttles to the BART station. Hotels may be cheaper than those in SF.

I actually often find pretty good parking in North Beach if you're ok with parking on the hills.

Sunday is free unlimited parking too and is always a great day to drive into the city.

Yeah those are good options but I'm actually heading to Sacramento next Friday and will go visit SF Saturday.

If you want to park in downtown the "Sutter Stockton Garage" has the best rates.

If you want to park for free, I'd suggest Daly City BART and ride BART into Powell Station. It's much closer and more frequent than Millbrae BART.

If you want free parking in North Beach (Little Italy), park at Coit Tower. You have to walk up/down the hill, but usually there is parking spaces available, especially at night.

If you want to spend zero on parking it's not hard to find on street parking in the mid to outer Sunset or Parkside. Park close to the L Taraval or N Judah (streecar routes) and enjoy your visit using public transit. Just pay attention to the street cleaning signs.

Most BART stations have free parking. Daly City BART has a huge parking garage. Glen Park BART has a free parking lot and decent street parking. As a tourist, I'd suggest parking in a garage to avoid getting your car towed. It's very unusual for a tourist to drive to Sunset to park and then catch a ride on MUNI Metro to go to downtown SF.
