That is hilarious!

A bit of an exaggeration. Just like if you read my posts, you would think every inch of the city of San Francisco was like the cuttiest corner of Sunnydale.

People on this forum do a good job portraying the poorly publicized parts of San Francisco and Oakland. In Oakland, people portray the poorly-publicized good parts. In SF, people call light to the rougher other side of things that is not advertised.

Uh, yes there is a point. Do you think a city with triple to quadruple the violent crime rate of other California Metros is "pointless"?

1. You are comparing a city's violent crime rate to a metropolitan area.
2. You are comparing the violent crime rates between two cities, with a huge difference in population.

What's your point? Give me the why.

PER CAPITA, Oakland's violent crime rate is THREE TIMES higher than L.A, which many Oakland boosters are saying is a gang land.

But you know what? Let's play your game.

Long Beach CA (pop. 462,257) - Violent Crime Rate per 1,000 people: 5.94

Oakland CA (pop. 395,817) - Violent Crime Rate per 1,000 people: 16.12

Look at that. Another city with a comparable population to Oakland, and yet... Oakland has THREE TIMES the violent crime rate.

Do you want to address that Stephen?

Great, more violent crime rates. Knowing the violent crime rate does what exactly?

If there was a majority black area anywhere in the free world that didn't have systemic crime and violence I am sure PBS would of made a Ken Burns documentary about it now.

If I am wrong feel free to name the place, but don't expect Oakland to be a safe place in our lifetime. It's not.
