Police Chief Howard Jordan has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding two officers filmed making repeated visits to a downtown Oakland karaoke bar that nearby residents suspect might double as a brothel.

KTVU staked out Cafe Juliet several nights recently after learning that a Port of Oakland official had spent public funds there.

Port of Oakland mismanagement is rampant. The Port should have been demolished and brought in hundreds of millions in private investment. Now it's a money pit of corruption, and Oakland is still trying to figure out how to monetize the port.

The only point I made was the port is the fifth-busiest in the country (http://aapa.files.cms-plus.com/Stati...ING%202011.pdf) and that's it's ridiculous to claim it shoul dbe dismantled.

The Port has (illegally) not made its recent audit public (A lesson from the Port of Oakland 'scandal (Community Voices) | Oakland Local) but its latest press release claims it contributes nearly half a billion dollars in tax revenue to the city, county & state annually (Port of Oakland - Newsroom).

If you have information to the contrary, perhaps you should post it.
