Because sometimes it takes more than a few years after someone's death for enough of the population to realize their importance.

They are allowed to address more than the one "most important thing." It's not an either/or issue.

I think Steve Jobs Intl airport would be most appropriate because without a doubt Jobs is the most internationally recognized bay area native.

I can get behind that one.

I second that one. Jobs did much more for the Bay Area than Milk. Who knows what Silicon Valley and the tech landscape might look like if Apple weren't as successful as it is. SF would probably still be in the same condition with or without Milk. I could get behind Steve Jobs International Airport. Change the letters from SFO to MAC.

Can't see this happening. Harvey Milk? Sorry, no.

It'll be up to the voters of San Francisco, if this gets through the BoS.

Would make more sense for San Jose's airport.

Steve Jobs would be a good one, but I would prefer to just keep the name as is.

OTOH as already mentioned, if airports had naming rights like pro sports arenas, Im sure it would have been renamed Ellison International or Oracle International a long time ago. LOL

Well, it gives new meaning to a "red eye" flight into Harvey Milk.
