they should leave the name alone, it's San Francisco, not Harvey Milk town or Wayne town or any of that. they can name streets or buildings after someone.

Agreed! SFO is...well....SFO and well known as such. Harvey Milk, not so much outside of SF. Not a nationally or internationally, widely known name.

I laughed my ass off when i heard about this issue.

JUST NO. NO. NO.
it'll never happen. tourists will be confused.
SF natives will be irritated. OAK will seem easier. and then OAK will get all the business.
Because Harvey Milk International will be in MILLBRAE, and nothing of it will seem San Franciscan.

can we just do a statue/day/school/park/playground/monument/book-day?
i love celebrating but let's just keep life easy.

I agree with Curmy. Keep the name that's known internationally.

It's why we here in Fresno changed the name of our airport to Fresno Yosemite Airport. Luring unsuspecting tourists to Fresno donchaknow.

A proposal to rename San Francisco’s airport after the late gay rights leader Harvey Milk, has been dropped, and the lawmaker who proposed it will aim to have a terminal named after Milk instead.

yeah, great idea. "Milk Terminal" has a much nicer ring than "Terminal B"

Hey, great tourism tie-in actually. "Got Milk?" Find it at SFO."
