High Speed Rail Commission and MTC are very similar organizations. Public entities that refuse to be accountable towards the public.

I am always annoyed by the tinge of smug hubris I detect from these people whenever I attend a hearing where they describe why we MUST do as they wish.

Between the eminent domain fights and the inevitable environmental reviews and subsequent lawsuits, HSR isn't going to happen anyway.

I have a feeling that Palo Alto and surroundings are going to litigate this project into oblivion. LOL

I agree, this project is going to be the biggest waste of money. But that is ok, we have all kinds of extra money to spend on legacy projects.

As far as I know there have been no new rights of way for major roads for the past two decades. A few were built during that time but had been approved many years prior, and were merely delayed by lack of funds. The chances of any new road rights of way now are next to zero.
