When will people get it through their head that SF is a huge metropolis of 7,000,0000 in the greater area? Our city limits are tiny, yes, 7 x 7 square miles, but other cities have giant boundaries making them appear more populated. SF is like a NY part 2. Kind of annoying, anyone else feel the same way? The Bay Area = SF.

It IS a small city, but an incredibly densely populated one.

And no, SF is NOT NYC part 2. On the surface they share some similarities, but they are way more different than they are alike.

Certainly don't agree with this, NYC is much denser and much bigger than SF and feels like it.

No, the regions of the Bay Area are fairly distinct. I get that SF is the center of a 7.5+ million metropolitan region and feels like it but I don't define the Bay Area as SF at all.

SF is small but it's still a bustling, urban city but one that is very compact and has small city limits.

It's not small, but it isn't a metropolis like NYC, either. It's definitely in that Large, but not huge, category.

47 square miles isn't very big for a city. When people say it's small, they mean that the city limits don't stretch very far. Compare them with a city like LA or Houston, etc and SF is downright tiny.

Lol. It almost seems desperate.

San Francisco by population is a large city, geographically it's a little bit under a mid sized city.

They are refering to the 7X7. SF is condensed, that is why people view it as small.
