Everette and Jones is not good, I've been there plenty. It's burned and dried out.

But is the BBQ good?

I have tried BBQ places here that had smokers and the BBQ was not worth a crap.

I am serious I don't think there is one single place out here that does BBQ correctly. I gave up looking over a year ago and I tried many places.

The Whole Foods in Cupertino is the only place I could find decent smoked BBQ! And then it is a hit or miss with them...but it is usually good.

This place was rated very high http://www.gorillabbq.com/ It was meh but the side items were not even fit for a dog. YUCK!

My office was on 11th Street near Chinatown. I heard that a few years ago the patriarch died, and with him their sauce recipe was lost forever, he'd never shared it with anyone.
As hard as they tried they couldn't come up with a substitute and business dropped off and finally they closed up all their stores. Everett & Jones was always 2nd best, don't know if they are still in business or not. A relative still in the area tells me the Brick Pig on Shattuck in the Rockridge area is good.
Use to go and make pick-up runs to Flints...

My brother worked for the A's and he was always ordering ribs from Flints... the VIPs at the coliseum preferred Flints...

Texas BBQ in San Jose has good ribs... can't vouch for anything else. You have to order them by the slab though (they save the best for the slabs)

The one place none of y'all have named is Mack's BBQ in San Carlos on Laurel... that used to be my go-to place for ribs on the Peninsula. Their hours are ever-changing but when they're open they're easily the best BBQ on the peninsula.

I have had Mack's a few times. I find their pulled meats to be very very greasy. Though I have not had their ribs.

It's pretty dang good, TVC15. Definitely the best, straight-forward, simple no-frills BBQ I've had since I've been out here.
