Live map of SF MUNI

Stare at the screen, watch the little buses and trains wend their inbound and outbound ways through your neighborhood. Kinda fun, even if you're not going anywhere.

Cool!

Though I'm kind of horrified that every time I've looked at the map 95% of the vehicles aren't moving. And I can spot like 8 #1s all piled up together. I'm scared to zoom in on that clump of #38s...

I'm glad you all liked it, but -- cue long sigh -- it worked better when I first loaded it up and posted the link than it did today or yesterday. Maybe there are bandwidth problems now that more folks have discovered it. Just as you noted, Isebiel, a lot of the vehicles aren't moving.

I thought the not moving part was a pretty accurate representation of Muni, actually.

When I open it up I see a few vehicles moving quite fast. Like if they were moving that fast everyone on the bus or train would be in serious danger. I think there is an issue with synchronization and probably more people have found it and are on the site. However, it's still a fun site to look at from time to time.

Pretty cool to look at although I'm not sure if this is actually helpful to transit riders since you can't isolate routes and show stops.
