Hi, I will be working in San Francisco soon. My schedule may start at 8AM some days and 12PM others. I want to know what to expect for commute times when trying to arrive to the Mission district by 7:30AM. I would take Golden Gate in the morning as I have had nothing but bad experience nearly any part of the day trying to take the Bay Bridge into the city. Everything gets backed up around Berkeley. I'm not concerned about the return trip as I will be getting out very late. Does anyone have experience with this route around this time?

i think you are looking at a 1.5 hour commute taking that route over the GG bridge to the mission. Worse if there is traffic.

What if you took the ferry from Larskpur over, then took the bus back on the early a.m. days? It might take longer, but would be more relaxing.

But I think you shouldn't have any trouble for the 12 PM commute. I'm not sure about a 6:30 a.m. commute in to be at work by 7:30, but that seems like it should work, too--it's early enough to avoid the big crush. Not too many people commute that early, do they? Leave home around 6 a.m. the first day, just to allow for unexpected traffic, and then gauge from there.

If you take the Golden Gate Bridge you will have to deal with a lot of SF local traffic to get to the Mission district. Plus there is the parking issue in SF. I would consider driving to Pleasant Hill or Concord Bart and taking the train directly to the Mission district.

It's going to be nasty... if you have a smartphone, you can use google maps to see the best path to take during that time. It uses live traffic and is quite accurate. I always check out the live traffic before I start driving.
