What FUD? I have no fear -- or doubt -- or uncertainty. My sarcasm stands as correct observation. Lower taxes and eliminate restrictions and California will strain to absorb more of the yearning masses ...

If all those regulations went away, or even a few, would the city / state improve as a result of the increase of people flocking in because then it would be so much more inviting?
Umm, if the City becomes "so much more inviting" does it not by definition improve?

How many more yearning masses does Cali need, dude? The state needs jobs, not more yearning masses. For now, anyway. Tech sector job growth isn't going to do it for everyone, that's just a niche. Jobs first, then we'll see about more yearning masses.

Oh, ever the literalist, eh? ... my point, if you care to ponder what I wrote, is that it would be self-defeating and essentially impossible to make the city / state more "inviting" ... because to tear down the barriers people perceive as obstructing growth [and happiness] here would be to destroy what's left even more.

You missed my facetious humor? No, "dude", California doesn't need more "yearning masses" -- that was my point. And it doesn't need more jobs either ... jobs bring the yearning masses I DON'T want.

There's high unemployment in the state, though. There need to be jobs for the masses that are already here.

Yes. I was being flippant. I am, actually, underneath my crass, hard, ugly exterior, quite sensitive to the people already here and out of work. Now that the budget has been stabilized and more revenue than expected rolling in -- may I propose pizza and beer all around?

Think I'm the only one who gets your humor.

Sorry, there's no pizza because nobody who works at a pizza place can afford to live within 100 miles of San Francisco no more. Hopefully some DiGiorno's will suffice.
