Now that I live back in NY, I don't have In-N-Out, Carls or Jack in the Box. My favorite fast food burger while living in the East Bay was In-N-Out's, I usually got the Double-double. I guess my second favorite was Carl's Six Dollar Burger. What is yours ?

But wait, you're in NYC, so what I'll put here doesn't really help you there.

Here? Super Duper or an In-n-Out double-double, animal style.

There? Five Guys or Shake Shack (but the Shake Shack lines are insane, so wait until it's raining as that drives almost everyone but the hardcore folks away.)

so you miss your fav burger. I have never stopped missing IN&Out and we have been gone for 30 years. Of course the first thing we do when we go back to CA or go to NV is get one. And yes, we liked Carl's as well. I know a lot of people will "5 guys" or some other Burger, but what so many forget is, we are talking "fast food" and cheap. I never pretend to think In&Out is the same as a gourmet, $7.00 burger..

Comes down to personal taste ... can't stand Five Guys, rather have In n Out, and I didn't grow up with either brand.

I'm not from the west coast but I've tried In-N-Out probably 3 times ordering off the published menu. I enjoyed it (I did go back 3 times) but is it just me or does it seem like In-N-Out is more a value-play (i.e. great for the price) as opposed to the best burger in town? It feels like the former to me. I think its great value but can't see how it can be the best burger out there. I'd go with Five Guys as well over it.

I agree with you somewhat. In-N-Out is my favorite FAST FOOD burger (haven't tried Five Guys yet though). The only thing that's come closest imo was a Rally's Burger, strangely enough.

But overall if you include burgers from local diners, fancy restaurants, etc, then no way is In-N-Out the best burger.

I just enjoy the overall experience of In-N-Out. The pricing, the cleanliness of the restaurants, the polite staff, fast service, etc. I am also a big fan of their fries. I like seeing them cut of the potatoes and then just frying them.

These days, In-N-Out is the only fast food joint I go to, along with Chick-Fil-A if I want chicken instead of cow.

Lol, I hate 5 Guys, so overrated. Their burgers are ok, but their fries ? God they are awful. To each their own.

I enjoy In-N-Out's fries as well. Probably my second favorite to McDonald's (sorry, can't help it, love McD's fries).
