I thought you were trying to narrow your options, not add to them?
Marv isn't the OP. The OP hasn't responded in a while. Not sure if our advice was heard/read, or not.

Not sure what to answer to this. I really don't know much about the places I mention ar the start of this thread other that they got recommended to me or I heard they have good schools. That's why I'm posting.

Thanks for all the information, it is very useful for me. I have to say that the whole CAL train issue it's not so important for me, the office William change location in year or so and I will end up in front of a BART station.
My wife looked into San Ramón/Danville, can someten give me a few hints on that place?

OK, good to know the advice was heard!

And good to hear you've looked into other places. The mid-peninsula (San Mateo, Burlingame) is a great place to live, regardless of whether you need/want to take Caltrain or not. But it sounds like your job location isn't static, and since it sounds like you're flexible with a commute, the outer Easy Bay (such as San Ramon/Danville) can work well. And you'll save some money compared to places in the inner core.

Yes. Check out the spotcrime.com site for Alameda:

As opposed to even the Temescal area of Oakland:

Actually the job will just move once, so now I'm closer to a CAL station but in a year we will move in front of BART station so I would think that either would work. I'm flexible with the commute and yes, for what I've seen I can get much better place for the same money in the outer East Bay. Only problem is that to commute I will need ride a car to get to the BART in either Walnut Creek or Dublin.
