there are some dangerous parts of oakland but the anti-oakland posters try to paint all of oakland as dangerous which is not true. they also religously ignore the national media lauding the growing arts,dining and entertainment scene.
national media such as the wall street journal,forbes magazine,new york times boston globe washington post ,La times,sunset magazine,travel & leisure,conde nast traveler advise people to visit oakland and the rave about remarkable urban renewal that has taken place in the last 5-8 years.it's as if they brains will explode if they acknowledge it.it goes against the false image of oakland they pathologically put forth

When my father was car-jacked... the police swarmed and the OPD Helicopter pursued and ground units apprehended the carjacker...
