Using Zillow you see Danville is about 50% of the housing cost of Los Altos..quite a large difference..

If you work in the Silicon Valley, Los Altos is it. Shorter commute and no bridges to cross.

If you work in the East Bay, Danville is it. Large house, excellent school district and warmer weather.

I went to high school in both towns and (in my opinion) Danville was less materialistic and the kids were just more down to earth. Academically I would say that the schools are on par with each other.

Which is closer to SF? I would say Danville because of the warmer weather and ii is closer to wilderness areas, mountains etc. Is Danville dry in the winter or does it get rule fog like the central valley?

The median income in Danville $114,000 vs los altos 126,000.
Both qualify as wealthy so it's a matter of choice.
