Exactly. That USA Today article was a slap in the face to anyone who has attended a game at the Coliseum. Anything else he said after which was (slightly) detracting from all his previous criticism was damage control. To somehow see it as positive toward Oakland and A's fans is delusional.

A's owner Lew Wolff blames the customers | CSN Bay Area
Okay, but five years later, here we are with zero resolution and suddenly the owner from hell intimates that a downtown stadium is what would invigorate attendance. And at this point, to claim SJ is inevitable is becoming somewhat of a delusion as well, no?

Well yes, a large part of Wolff's tomfoolery is that he's adamantly never left Oakland open as an option for a new ballpark site. At this point it's either San Jose or languish at the Coliseum until he sells the team.

Yes I totally agree.

The team needs a new stadium and a newowner. A new city, not so much.

Wolff doesn't understand you. Motivation to sit in a seat doesn't just come from a game, or a winning record, or an allegiance. Healthy attendance goes beyond Giants vs A's, a lot of it has to do with AT&T Park vs Coliseum

He talked about it the day before when he blamed Oakland, Alameda County and AEG for the decrepit state of the Coliseum.
