Camden: I'm going off memory, but I think that's a longer street and I'm not sure that I would call either end Maxwell park. I'm not thrilled by the areas near High Street. The other part is closer to Mill? Depending on where it cuts through, it might be sketchy.

Earl - This area has always looked like it was not a part of city servicing. I'm not sure why. There are no houses on Fontaine and some of the areas can be wooded which leads to people parking, littering, etc. They have a very strong neighborhood association. Glen Daniels Park is around the corner which is protected open space near the old middle and elementary schools. Too much dumping and parking taking place here but as long as you have an alarm (and you have a dog) you'll be fine.

I might like Camden more, but that completely depends on where you are looking. I would stay away from High Street, but that's my comfort level. Both areas have changed demographics quite a bit in the last 15 years. LOts of dog walkers in the area near Earl and if you like to walk, there are great views at the top of Fontaine.

Good luck to you

Where on Camden are you talking about? If you're talking about the part east of Seminary (towards Eastmont Mall) then I'd pick Earl in a heartbeat. If you're talking about west of 55th then I'd pick Camden.

Maxwell Park is 'closer in' and 580 can be brutal so you might want to consider that.

I also prefer the vibe, housing styles and community feel of Maxwell Park, which is adjacent to Laurel and Redwood Heights. Speaking of Laurel, if you can afford MP you definitely want to take a look at Laurel too, maybe Dimond--both good areas with vibrant retail areas..
