Anybody know of any tight races in the Bay or NorCal?

Quote:
"Leave San Francisco. Leave this
bastion," she told 600 donors and other
backers at the Fairmont hotel Friday.
"Go out into the wilderness, and roll up
your sleeves.

"I'm also going to be straight with you,"
the first lady said. "Most districts in
this country are not like San Francisco.

... We have a lot of tight races in other
parts of California and all across the
country. And every single one of these
seats matters."

Being in DC I will tell you what she is communicating. It makes perfect sense to somebody who has worked on campaigns. The reality for doing political work is you should not be working in a solid districts, you need to get out to competitive districts and states.

She is not necessarily telling people to move, but asking them to volunteer in competitive districts.

Fluff piece with useless soundbite title to garner interest. Nothing of interest to be seen here, move along.

All she is saying is there is no point campaigning in an area that is 99.999999999999% already going to vote for Democrats.

No one likes outsiders coming in and telling them how to vote, no matter where the place.

Even solidly democrat cities like chicago do not like bay area politicos.

Sip your wine, eat your cheese, and stay the **** in napa where you belong.

Well, in 2012 there were CA volunteers doing phone banking for states such as Nevada. Or they coordinated with local folks on the ground. It's not what you might think it is.

You have to understand that the Obama campaign had a very sophisticated microtargeting outreach of voters - so that they could concentrate their efforts/resources on those voters who were likely to vote for their candidates. Why not?
