Mother loses both children in same month - CNN.com

This is just beyond sad. Looks like much hasn't changed in the Town.

Oakland is much improved in many ways. Oakland is booming as far as food, culture and art, etc. #oakfrufru

On the other hand, YES the lawless, feckless, worthless trash that werent raised right and think they have a right to kill others, yeah they are still here.

Its not the fault of the police, or the mayor, or Santa Claus. No, its OUR DAMN fault for letting these dirtbags run loose. We keep trying to reason with unreasonable animals and it wont stop until we decide to throw the book at them, allow random searches, implement strict youth curfews, get the citywide surveillance camera system up an running, etc.

I used to be so much more accomodating but recent events that have affected me personally have changed my perspective and now I want them rounded up and drowned in the bay. Help me to be more forgiving Baby Jesus.

Exactly....when gang injunctions are dismissed as "racist" (and you have to twist the facts to make it a white guy's idea), you know your town is stuck in 1970s liberal East Bay politics.

I never would have imagined this response coming from you, but I agree with everything you said.

Well, I have always been oblivious and indifferent to what were always things that other people dealt with. But then I personally experienced something that served as a rude awakening. Not going to get into details but suffice it to say that I believe that unless we do everything within our power to take down these people, then we have no one to blame but ourselves,. This is OUR city, not theirs. We owe them no courtesy.

If your in a gang (and by the way each person was killed definatly implies this) you drastically increase your chances of being killed.

Of course I don't want anyone to be murdered, but not expecting to be in an accident when you race nascar is keeping your head in the sand.

Very sad, indeed. I am a 55 year native of San Francisco and don't see a solution to this issue in Oakland in the near future.

These killings all occurred near the Oakland Boys and Girls Club. I wonder what is going on in this place? Has the administration ever commented on this. If it is not gang related, I am concerned that a serial killer may be stalking that address taking young boys out. Just an offbeat out of the box theory.

We do. Just nowhere near as many as places like LA and Orange County.
