Totally. I can't imagine anyone worth a $200,000 salary having these kinds of questions. There is nowhere in the US where a $200,000 salary doesn't equate to comfortable living and anyone worth that salary knows it.

A very successful 27 year old who has never used an internet forum? Right, sure

175k is plenty of money to live very comfortably in a private residence in San Francisco. The suggestion that you would have to consider the Tenderloin gives this troll away.

/end thread.

Haha ok, clearly it's not that comfortable, she stated herself that "without a mate making the same salary and having 20% down I won't be buying any time soon"

If you've been making $125,000 in Philly for a couple of years, you must have some money saved that you could use towards a cash downpayment. What you, and others like you, should have been doing is living with your parents for a couple of years to save enough for a downpayment.

I own a home here for 3 years that I put a lot of money down on and I'm not sure what I will get out of it when I sell. Ill have to sell in a shorter amount of time then I would perfer because of the job opportunity and my start date. Either way 20% on 500k is a lot of money to part with when it comes to living in a studio. Honestly just looking for some good feedback witch I got a lot of. I'm not a super educated techie or financial guy and I didn't intend on people coming at me but I guess that's just part of it.

There's significant class tension in SF right now, more so than other cities experiencing gentrification because those who are priced out aren't pushed to adjacent neighborhoods, but instead 8 miles across the bay. You'll have to forgive us for assuming you were making a joke...

Haha I ran a cost of living comparison. As I said I did a lot of research but wanted to talk to actual people.
