Good friend of mine was laid off last Friday and is devasted. Smart, young pretty female. High Social IQ. It was unexpected and she is down on this. Thought to ask if anyone knows of similar opening.

First tell your friend to calm down, layoffs are extremely common and it probably wont be her last, its not personal its just business today, things change fast. I'd had 5 severance packages and a few other near layoffs by the age of 40 and i work in accounting which is supposed to be stable.

EA/PA jobs are almost always plentiful in the Bay area, like someone else said check linkedin and craigslist and any number of sites, including the company's' websites she interested in working for. Also she can sign up with placement/temp agencies and they can usually have you working admin type jobs very quickly. Also, if she hasn't done so already sign up for unemployment immediately.
