Why do people keep posting SF weed threads?

I don't think it's possible even here in L.A. IIRC smoking anything in most public spaces is practically illegal throughout the state, and that includes marijuana whether its medicinal or not. So it's not going to be like it was with tobacco thirty years ago, when you'd find clouds of blue smoke in any pub or restaurant.

I live near a few dispensaries so I can reasonably assume there are a good number of people around here with MMJ cards, in addition to those tokers who continue buying theirs the old fashioned way. I also walk around the neighborhood a good deal, and once in a great while I'll notice the smell of weed nearby. But it's never more than just enough to notice it.

So I expect it will be much the same in San Francisco.

well the smoke is mainly around the medical marijuana dispensaries, so google them, map them all out, and create your routes to avoid them at all costs! oh and maybe wear a gas mask type apparatus to protect yourself just in case.

Many San Franciscans share the same fear. Luckily there are gas masks for this very purpose available from many street vendors. Your best luck is walking up Jones street from Market and asking the people there who has got the best price for rubber masks. They are sold sort of like ticket scalpers, if you just head to say, Jones and Eddy, and start yelling "RUBBER MASK" someone will approach to help you out.

Also, because of the perpetual marijuana haze clouds that permeate the city, many San Franciscans have taken to carrying their own oxygen. The same vendors above also carry portable oxygen. Just keep yelling "OXYGEN!, RUBBER MASK!". You'll get help quickly.

Eric, I thinik you might be misinformed. It's not like EVERYONE in SF is walking around smoking weed. It IS still illegal. I've never gotten high walking around San Francisco.

It's true not everyone is smoking weed on the street, but the fact that it's illegal is basically seen as a joke. They don't enforce the laws against smoking weed in public here in SJ, so I assume it's the same in SF.
