Here's something to stir memories or make new ones: 1955 San Francisco in color. A San Francisco treat. Enjoy!

It would be nice if there was still a pier at Ocean Beach.

Judging from the leafless deciduous trees that one was taken in either winter or very early spring, in between Pacific storms. Definitely no fog that time of year (except Tule Fog inland).

Great videos. Thanks, bjh! That's what the City looked like when my family moved to the Bay Area in 1957. Ladies wouldn't go shopping downtown unless they were in hats and gloves and high heels, and men wore suits and ties and hats. I wish I could go back in time and dine at Julius Castle, Jack's, The Old Poodle Dog or Blum's, go to the funhouse at Playland, shop at the City of Paris or visit Fisherman's Wharf when real fisherman still worked there.

And of course, I'd love to see all those classic cars on the road again!

Everything everyone said here.

The cars and the way people dressed . Beautiful.

They say fashion goes in cycles. I long for the days when people start dressing up again.
