Hey, so I've been living at the parents house in Walnut Creek the past 14 months saving up money.

I just changed to a job that I can commit to at least for 1 year. I've lived in Walnut Creek, San Francisco Daly City.

I'm not looking to pay over $1500/Month for a 1 bedroom apartment/studio/room.

I'm looking at the following cities (Working in Embarcadero):

Downtown Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, San Francisco, Berkeley, North Oakland.

I like to be around people but do not mind being tucked away as a place to live in.

Dude, have you tried Craigslist? You live in the area, you know the rental market about as well as we do. For $1500 you can get a room in the City, or an apartment in Berkeley or Oakland. But university classes are starting up. There may not be anything available around Berkeley right now. You just missed the window of opportunity, there.

I'm looking to rent come October. I had been job searching so that was my first thing I wanted to get out of the way. I've began searching Craigslist.

By October, Berkeley and north Oakland should open up a bit. I just looked at Craigslist, Not much comes up, and the only decent thing is a studio with its own separate kitchen in SOMA/South Beach, $1400. Think about what kind of an environment you want to live in: super-urban, like SF, or a little more suburban, not so noisy, more green, like Berkeley. Coming from Walnut Creek, living in SF might be a shock. Also consider El Cerrito, where you can get a little more space for your $$ than in Berkeley/Oakland.

Maybe I'll look for roommates.

That would be the smart thing to do. Then you could save part of your paycheck. Plenty of shared households in Berkeley and SF.
