I imagine it would be INSANELY amazing, if I grinded coffee beans right before brewing instead of pre-grinding at whole foods where I got 5 day roasted coffee beans.

I decided to try something different than Starbucks. I tried peet's, Dunking Donuts (familiar to those from east). I don't understand why people like Dunking Donuts. I tried their ground coffee and it tasted so weak and cheap. Even great pre-grind coffee from last day tastes to me better than dunking donuts despite I assuming loosing some aroma and taste when left ground for more than few hours.

Now if they could open few more locations and expand beyond San Francisco and Oakland down to Peninsula and South Bay!

Uh no, it's overpriced for the amount of coffee you get (being located in the Ferry Building doesn't help much with the cost either).

Yet another overhyped coffee machine in the Bay Area.

Heck, even Folgers pre-roasted instant tastes better.

Blue Bottle is great coffee. Glad I have one that's like 3 blocks from my apartment. I go there a few times a month at best though- it's definitely way too expensive to drink on a daily basis.

I get all my coffee from the Castro Coffee Company: $9 for a pound -- yes, a POUND, not 10 or 12 or 14 ounces -- of excellent beans.

Define being overpriced for amount, wait till you try Keurig V-cup (they discontinued model of that machine, but still sell supply), it is like 16 portions for like $12 and it tastes horrible.

Why? We already have plenty of great options in the South Bay, like Barefoot, Chromatic, Red Rock, Red Berry, B2, etc.

For home brew, I appreciate a bag of the super-premium beans once every couple months but my budget couldn't take paying almost $20 per 3/4 pound of beans. I got a subscription at Coffee CSA and fill in the blanks with Catahoula or Tony's ($10 per 3/4, at Berkeley Bowl) or Bean Trees.

You must be heavy drinker or have large household. Why not get average cheap pound of bag coffee and premium one and drink the premium one only other day?

If you're in Santa Cruz, get over to Verve Coffee. Order a cappuccino and then give a comparison to Blue Bottle.
You're in for a treat.
They also use Verve beans at both French Press locations in Santa Barbara.

DBM-8 - Supreme Grind

Try this? It's an easy way to grind your beans right before you brew. I'm from the east coast, and I love Dunkin Donuts coffee, but only if I get it freshly brewed in their stores with their cream and sugar added. I've heard part of the reason it's so good is because of the cream they use. I've bought a bag of the Dunkin Donuts coffee, and it's not that great. I do love Blue Bottle's lattes, though, and it's nice I can walk there when I want to take a little break.
