It's a mere 5 year event. Garden variety. Probably some of the reaction is because we had 3 dry water years previously.

Wow, is it that bad there? I went to Burlingame today and there were a few puddles here and there but nothing major. I got lucky I guess hehe.

Yes, you are correct, sir!

We spazz out over these kind of storms in CA because they shut entire regions down, with flooded freeways and intersections, power outages, downed trees, and streams and rivers overflowing into homes and businesses. It ain't just "a little rain."

Haven't seen you post in the SF forum for awhile. To me, you're one of the funniest and wittiest posters on CD.

For the record, yesterday was the 11th-wettest day ever recorded in SF.

Maybe not a "biblical" deluge like some were predicting, but definitely more than just a little drizzle.

Not seeing how the "entire region" was anything close to being shutdown. Nearly all of the damage was localized and many times in the same areas that always experience problems with storms like this. "OMG Guerneville got a ton of rain and flooded for the 15th millionth time" lol. It seems like nowadays every large storm in CA is overhyped.

I was impressed for how long and steady the rain was, literally rained for at least 20 hours straight without a break it seems like but it never was that heavy where I was, light to moderately heavy. And I never saw these damaging winds.

We need another 10 like that (or another 30 normal ones).

When most businesses in a given area are telling their employees to stay home, and the ones trying to get to work can't...it's a shutdown.

Uhhmm.. No... I've lived in earthquake zones for most of my life. In fact, I live right on the hayward fault line (literally.... right on it)
