So rather than focus on moving to a sunny, warm place like perhaps 14 miles away (aka, where I live, "the boonies") you intend on whining and complaining for the next 40 yrs about how miserable you are?

Instead of tormenting yourself and foolishly attempting to mock me for the very good lifestyle I have, you may consider, perhaps when (or if) you mature, that you can be the master of your own ship as well.

^ Seriously. I work in SF and am not a fan of the weather at all. I'll gladly deal with a commute so that I can go home to Oakland where it's warmer/sunnier. Some people will make excuses for themselves just so they can remain miserable. Pathetic, really.

Current rent prices in sf: share a room way out in the sunset for $900...lol Or share a room in a nice area close to downtown for $1600. No wonder the OP is depressed. You have to be rich to live a middle class life in sf.

Clinical depression + SF = Bad Mix.

Wonderful post and I could not agree more!

SF certainly was great in the 80's

One last thing ... how many of you who are complaining are Libertarians or Republicans?
The Bay Area I grew up in led the nation in efficient transportation, first class highways and well maintained roads. There were no potholes and filthy, over-grown, litter-strewn mediums and road shoulders.

Why?
  • Because the rich were taxed.
  • Homelessness was unheard of!
  • People worked 9-to-5 under good conditions, had health care, and paid vacations.
  • The present disparity of wealth so disgustingly seen daily in San Francisco and Oakland didn't exists.
WE HAD QUALITY OF LIFE ----> WE HAD LEISURE TIME <-------

California also led the nation in quality education. Music and art programs that rounded out a person's talents and appreciation for the world. No one ran around spray painting buildings everywhere to "express themselves artistically" because they LEARNED HOW TO DEVELOP THEIR TALENTS!

Republicans... Libertarians ... people who, "opt out" ( ... a non-vote is a vote for tyranny... as pre-Nazi Germans learned...) have allowed the rich few to profit at your expense due to, "designed apathy." Huxley, Orwell, Bradbury, hello. Soma. We're here.

GREED ... corporate greed... and the "Designed Consent" of ignorant, self-seeking, vassals and serfs allowed the Oligarchal corporations and "old families" to dismantle the safeguards put in place after the Great Depression.

FDR essentially saved Capitalism by inserting fairness that too many were taught was, "Socialism."
((lol)) So stop complaining. This is what you asked for.

AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE WEATHER!

Are you insane??? The Bay Area has some of the best Mediteran weather in the world. If you don't like the micro-climate where you are, jump in the car, train, or bus and travel a few lousy miles and it's sunnier ... or cooler. Your choice. Does this spoiled brat think everything is supposed be delivered to his couch??

HINT: Man is a SOCIAL Animal. Life won't get better for you until you care about how it is for others.

Rocket science
