I just changed my address via DMV website. I'm looking to buy a San Francisco residential parking permit, and need a registration with my new address on it. How do I get a new physical registration with my new address? The DMV site mentions that new registrations aren't issued when the address is changed.

Thanks for your help in advance!

You have to pay for a new registration to be printed. You can also do this at AAA if you are a member.

Even after I've changed my address on DMV's online system? Can I do this online or over the phone, or do I need to go in-person to have a new one printed. Additionally, what do I need (as proof of residency) to get my registration's address changed and reprinted?

Thanks for the help!

You just change your address with the DMV., no other proof is needed. I don't know if you can order a copy of your registration online (doubt it), but you can walk into the DMV and have one printed.

You do need to have a new registration printed with the new address on it for SFMTA to accept. I don't think there's a way online to do that. I just went through this process in late December. I just went to the DMV in Walnut Creek since I was out that way, and with an appointment it only took me 25 minutes to do that, change the title on our car to a CA title and be on our way to the SFMTA office.

My son got an Oakland parking permit with his old address on his license by changing his address online with DMV and printing out the confirmation and taking it with him; I'm not sure if you can do that with a registration but it might be worth trying.
