SoCal (San Diego). Just prefer the lifestyle there overall for a variety of reasons and I feel you get a better deal on housing down there compared to here considering location and proximity.

Yeah, housing really is the deal breaker up here in the Bay Area.

We will leave eventually, turning equity into cash (given the inevitable difference in costs between here and wherever we end up moving to).

First 25 years of my life in San Diego, most recent 25 years in Bay Area (SF, Pacifica, SF Oakland) and part-time in Maui (in case anyone wasn't able to figure that last part out on their onw).

I've lived here for 26 years. Not likely to move, unless somebody makes me an offer I can't refuse.

I'm not a fan of silicon valley or the tech industry, because of the rampant racism, ageism, sexism, and cronyism that I have witnessed during my various roles throughout the bay area. It's actually the topic of a book I'm writing, sure to be a bestseller.

I'll be very interested in your book, as long as it isn't a diatribe against white people. Indians and Asians are way more racist than Causasians. Blacks and Hispanics need to seriously adjust their "racism" cannon.

Clarify which Asians, because our first-world ally is not racist against Caucasians, at least not those who are of Baby Boomer age and younger, i.e. post-war.

California native - moved to the North Bay Area (Napa) when I was 7 years old and grew up there. Moved to SF proper in 2004, lived there for a little over 5 years, grew to hate SF, moved back to Napa for 9 months, then moved to Los Angeles for 3 years because I'd wanted to live in LA for quite some time (glad I did, I love LA). Now living in Colorado (ugh) with family to save money to move to the East coast (I've wanted to experience NY living for 15 years).
