The SF ABC morning news cast felt an earthquake, and they claim it was centered in Berkeley. I didn't feel it at all up here on Bernal Hill.

1 mile north of Piedmont, 4.0 on the Hayward Fault.

I was in my garage getting ready to leave for work. It wasnt the normal swaying but a sharp jolt that felt like a fast succession of shakea, rough too.

Thank heavens it was fast one.

Yup, woke me up too, as I only live a couple miles from the epicenter. Felt about as strong, but sharper and shorter, than the 6.0 Napa one did to me in SF.

Felt it in Benicia. Our dogs started acting all antsy about 30 seconds beforehand.

Quick jolt in Oakland with a loud booming bass drum sounding like noise. No items fell from shelves. Glad it was short, any longer and it would have caused some damage for sure.

I felt it in Cole Valley/Inner Sunset. Strong jolt followed by a couple seconds of what felt like bouncing.

Felt it in Outer Deep East. Cats were freaked, but during and after. Only once have my cats gave me a heads up, and that was years ago.

They woke up and hit the floor...
