Husband had the same BS happen to him. Truly ridiculous.

the cameras at the intersection literally go off every time the light changes whether something improper happened or not. Its weird because i've seen those cameras at lots of intersections but that millbrae one is the only one that noticably flashes all the time. it was distracting/startling when i first moved to millbrae but i eventually got used to it.

I hate camera intersections. I don't even want to make a legal right turn on red after stop for fear of getting an invalid ticket I'll need to later contest.

i've been in millbrae (maybe getting off 101 at millbrae ave near in and out?) and the camera flashed for no obvious reason. i think we were all turning left or right with the appropriate arrow. so maybe nothing will come of it.

I go to Millbrae quite often and have been flashed quite a few times, but they were just false alarm flashes and I've never received a ticket in the mail for any of these false alarms. They review the videos to weed out false alarms.

I think it flashes every other light change. It's super sensitive, and I think people turning left sometimes trigger the sensor for the people traveling in other directions. It's normal.

Although I'm not sure why they'd want it that way...90% of the flashes have to be false alarms, I'd hate to be the person going through those to validate them.

That's a really bad one at that intersection. It's either a complete clusterf___ (e.g. bad engineering) or it is designed to falsely accuse many drivers who neither violated a red light nor rolled through a right turn, choose your favorite root cause. It appears to snap around the time the light turns yellow, not red and appears to snap many making right turns who did come to a complete stop at the correct line.

It's either badly engineered, or, it is corruption in action.

Maybe sick some local media on it.
