The Bay Area has 101 incorporated cities. What are your 3 favorite cities and why?
And just for fun, which 3 cities do you dislike the most?
My 3 favs:
1. San Francisco -no explanation needed.
2. San Mateo -best city on the peninsula(favorite region of the bay after The City)
3. Redwood City/San Jose(cant decide, like both for different reason)

My 3 dislikes
1.Oakland(no explanation needed lol)
2. Vallejo(what a ghetto, bankrupt, dangerous, vacant and terribly run city, does have potential thou but Today it sucks)
3. Richmond/San Bruno(cant decide again lol, both suck for different reasons but I always looked at San Bruno as the worst city on the peninsula)

1. San Jose- similar lay out to LA
2. Fremont- The skate park
3. Oakland only because of Clyde Carson, the most underrated rapper born in the early 80's

Least Favorite
1) SF- don't understand the hype. Over priced, filled with transplants and ugly people.
2)Pleasanton -the most god awful, cookie cutter, stepford wives community I have ever seen
3)Brentwood- REDNECKS

Oakland has many nice areas like Rockridge, Oakland Hills, Jack London Square, and downtown is nice. Your opinions of Oakland aren't very open minded, no offense.

Best:
1/ Sunnyvale: well run city and safe.
2/ Palo Alto: love the architecture and downtown.
3/ Walnut Creek: nice downtown and suburban feel.

Worst:
1/ Oakland: many nice parts, but many bad, dilapidated parts.
2/ Daly City: feels like the air conditioning was always left on.
3/ Antioch: rough, rough, rough.

Theres nothing in the hills or in lake merriet/dwnt that can make up for the miles and miles of decaying industrial slums filled with guns drugs and prostitues of the worst kind. It is constantly on the top of Americas most dangerous cities and by far the worst in California. Theres always crazy riots and protest dwtn and even the cops are triggerhappy and always shooting people. Give it a few more years and Oakland will loose all 3 of its major sports franchises. Also terrible urban planning as Oakland let Emeryville,Piedmont and Alameda, essentialy all former Oakland neighborhoods which incorporated in and around Oakland, sucking dry its wealthier rich tax base. Also look at the other people on this thread, they are all constantly ranking Oakland as their least favorite city. I mean should I keep going?

Oakland even in the "nice" areas don't feel safe and it's expensive. It should be more similar to Detroit prices, the only reason it's not is because San Francisco is across the bridge.

I seldom go to Oakland, but I know muggings / robberies are very common, a black guy tried to rob me as soon as I got off the bus, within 10 minutes while I was waiting for somebody, he was waiting behind some bushes, and this was in the daytime.
