Hello,

We are from Fremont, looking to buy a house either in San Ramon or Dublin. We have two boys. Our older one is 4th grader and the younger is a 5 yr old autistic child who would go to special need kindergarten in the fall 2016. He needs OT, Speech. I would like to know if there's anybody here who has a special need child going to either San Ramon school district or Dublin school district. How are the services? Which school district is better. I would really appreciate if anybody out there can come forward and give me more details.

Thanks.

Default School of Imagination

Speaking only about your special needs child, I don't know anything about the public school district but I know if a place that will be able to help you. Have you looked into the School of Imagination in Dublin? They only have preschool and Kindergarten now (with no grades higher now- although there are plans to add grades in the future). It is a truly remarkable place!! They are actually known around the country and do teacher training seminars on a regular basis. They have both normally progressing children as well as special needs children in the same classrooms, a low student teacher ratio, additional therapies in the building- OT and Speech. They offer these therapies even if you child does not go there. They also have support groups and therapy groups for older children. Even though it your son would only be there for a year, I can't think of a better place! They will set up a treatment plan before you begin, so you will have access to as many services as you need. This is truly a special place in the world. This is the best place to start. I'm sure they know everything that the local public schools offer to and can help direct you In the best direction. They are such compassionate people, even if you don't go there, they will be able to answer some of your questions and give you a starting point.

Good luck to you!

Thanks.
