My landlord rented a small unit out to me and I have no lease, it's just a month to month agreement. when I spoke to him about who pays the electric, he stated to me that his business is connected to my unit with the electricity, and that I would only be paying half the bill, but for the last few bills it seems as if I am paying the whole bill. Also he has two electric supply companies, again I have to stress that the electric bill is not in my name, I am so confused, is this legal? Please help me understand..
I rent a small apartment in New Rochelle, Ny that is month to month only, but I do not have an electric bill in my name. My landlord expressed to me before moving in that the electric bill is shared with his business and that I will be paying half of the whole bill... Lately every bill(one page) has been photo copied and attached to my door, but I don't see the actual bill. the amount that I am paying seems to me like the whole amount of the bill. I wanted to give him the option to explain but he keeps saying that is your bill for your unit (forgetting he said to me "you share electricity with my business"). I need help understanding what is happening, did I fall into a trap of no lease, nothing I can do agreement? I feel so hurt
P.S he also has two different electricity supply companies, that I am paying for....

Reason: no finished
Aren't they supposed to set up separate accounts for a business? I don't know how it is in Westchester though. This should really be in Westchester forum.
this already does not sound like a good situation to me.
