I commute from Oakland (well my mail lady claims it's Emeryville but it's Oakland) to the Bay View Area in SF.

Usually I take the Transbay bus to Muni or Bus to Muni. Commute to work: 50-90 minutes. Commute home 60-90 minutes.

1-2x a week I drive due to evening engagements. Commute to: 40-90 minutes. Commute back to the East Bay 60+ minutes. Sometimes 2 hours if traffic is insane. Days like that I miss my old office that was 2 miles from my house but I don't miss that low salary.

Depends on the day and time of day during the work week

Some mornings it's Oakland to Fremont and I take 580/680 and it's about 45 mins to an hour

Some afternoons it's Fremont to the Peninsula and it's about 35-40 mins on 880/237/82/280

Some afternoons/nights it's from Oak/SF, SF/OAK to Oakland it's between 25-40 mins on the Bay Bridge (sometimes it's super quick, others there's a Giants game, accident, or construction)

Last edited by crownheightsnative; 09-20-2016 at 05:58 PM.. Reason: it had nothing to do with SF/OAK. It was about an LA commute ;)

I commute from North Oakland to SOMA. Most days I take the Transbay bus - 20-30 minute bus ride and 7-10 minutes of walking total. The way home is similar unless there is some weird traffic issue.

Some days I take BART for various reasons. On those days the door to door is about 40-45 minutes.

For me, Martinez to Berkeley 25 mins easy. Why? Luckily, working the night shift and it's always against the traffic.
Wifey, does the morning commute 60-90 mins door to door, daily going to SF Market St. taking the combination of car, Bart and Muni.

Piedmont Ave. Neighborhood in Oakland to downtown SF with casual car pool on 580 is about 30 minutes. If the driver takes the 980 to 880 detour only about 20 minutes.

Concord to Downtown San Francisco, about 10 minutes of walking and about 40 minutes on BART. So 50 minutes total.
