So basically the only place he had a majority in was Discovery Bay? Thankfully the Bay Area and Contra Costa County lacks large swaths of deplorable areas like Simi Valley, Santa Clarita, South OC, etc that went for Trump.

Unless they're C-level executives, then probably not. Taxes are likely to go up slightly for most people in the salary range of tech workers.

There are a lot of "country club" Republican types who live in many of those places, who are not crazy about Trump. Most of them favored Kasich, Bush and Rubio in primary, and some ended up voting for Clinton.

Ironically, Trump is viewed as anti-nature but the areas Trump one such as Tassajara Valley, Livermore Valley, and Sunol are open space while Clinton won the areas full of suburban sprawl such as most of Dublin and San Ramon.

Trump needs to get as serious on wilderness preservation as border security, but the GOP estblishment us very corrupt.

Trump doesn't care about wilderness preservation...if anything, he will probably roll back a lot of "Antiquities act" executive orders that Obama used to preserve a lot of land over the last 8 years. Which is super unfortunate...but predictable.

I know Trump doesn't but what's left of his constituency in California are the people who live outside the urban growth boundaries. My point is that Trump's advisers need to make the connection between urban sprawl and support for democrats, based on voting trends from the map.

Actually that split you're referring to reflects the relative prevalence of actual Americans vs foreigners.

Dublin is basically dominated by immigrants...that isn't really that new...it was that was the last election too...not sure if it was so much the case in 2008 but if not it was starting to get there.

Not really that far fetched, given that the leftists strong armed Pleasanton into building low income housing on what was left of their flatland open space...and now there isn't any.

Again...urban sprawl is a function of immigration. The connection is that urban sprawlers largely will never vote like Americans....because some many of them aren't.
