Other than the weather...there is no contest. San Francisco crushes San Jose.

I like San Jose a lot, but San Francisco is a clear winner!

Why does it matter which town I like better? What matters is the one you like better. Native San Franciscan here. The City does outrank San Jose in every respect, but I like the feel of the San Jose area more. Seems more like a place that you could raise a family. The City is more of a place to experience rather than to live and raise a family compared to San Jose.

If yyou think about it, there is nothing in San Jose. All the tourist spots all the sights, all the unique popular food spots, all in SF. For SJ to retain such a high value is crazy for a city that lacks a lot of stuff compared to SF.

Back in the 80s no one dared move to SJ, now many wish they can even afford sj. SJ was the spot to raise a family, the suburbs if you will. Now thats over. It already has a significantly bigger population than SF now, and the only places that arent crowded are the rare new pocket neighborhoods where you have to be a near millionaire to afford. What was once roomy and spacy are crowded. 2-4 generations of families living in one house. Streets are crowded with cars due to this, driveways as well garages not being used because all the stuff from multiple families in a house.

As for weather, weather in SJ can get as hot as weather in sacramento or the central valley. during the summers. 90s-100s. Where SF will never see that. So if those hot summer days you can't hang with, then SF still wins in weather.

...tropper, you at it again with SJ vs another city ..just enjoy SJ for what it does offer and the continued improvements being developed. But how can this even be a serious question it's like asking which basketball team is better the Golden State Warriors or a kid high school team.

I think San Jose is a better city since it has a better downtown with real sense of community and it has Santana Row, too.

Outrank every respect? size, population, economy, downtown, weather, and diversity? NO; San Jose is THE CITY, not SF
