I do. And the cloudiness is very far from "constant". Very far. Sounds like you hit the wrong neighborhood during a short visit. SF weather is pretty close to my ideal. How about you, bro? Do you LA people actually like the oppressive heat that's nearly year-round, except for the beach communities?

You're talking the beach. Any beach area past SB, in some cases, past Malibu, is like that, during summer stratus season.

Just like anywhere else, if you go inland you have less or no stratus, and heat.

By the beach, cool, breezy and stratus at times.

Tell me, how do you like, for example, Lunada Bay?

That forecast is identical to the Hillbilly Shack.

We hit the low 80s yesterday.

I'm a similar distance from the beach as you, in fact, a bit closer.

I actually love the fog...especially as a photographer.

That said, this summer has been pretty fog-free compared to other recent years. And it really is only a hard-to-live-with thing for a small part of the year. Other areas of the countries have much similar times of the year with hard-to-deal-with weather (winter or unbearably-hot summers where you can't do very much outside).

Also - don't forget about the microclimates! At least in SF, you can drive literally only a couple of miles away (often still in the City itself), and be in completely different weather. Where I used to live in Rochester, NY, I had to get on a plane for hours to be in more "comfortable" weather.

The weather was a big reason I moved, I absolutely hated it... if I were to live there long term I'd have to live somewhere like San Mateo where they actually have a summer yet arent in the middle of brown fields.

Hey, I don't get anywhere near the LA kitchen! Enjoy! It's yours. To each, their own.

Which is why some people prefer SF weather. Different strokes for different folks. Bro.

San Francisco weather is almost perfect. Its about the ONLY thing I like about the city. Also its mid to low 60's, not 50's. 50's would be better than 60's. Anything over 70 is too hot!
