You might want to try looking for neighborhoods in the SF area using this website: http://www.bayarearealestateadvisor.com (broken link). It has profiles and overviews of over 100 neighborhoods in the Bay Area, including relative pricing, history and location.

Is Sausalito really that inexpensive?? (yes, I realize that sounds weird to some people - LOL) I've always loved that town, and assumed it would cost a fortune to live there... probably does to buy a place, but that rent doesn't sound too unreasonable. I could swing $1350/mo., I think... Anyway, first I'd need to find a job up there, which probably won't happen. Though I do have a lead on a position in San Francisco, so I'm wondering if that would be a do-able commute?? I don't work traditional hours, which makes crossing that bridge much easier. But I also wonder if the weekend tourists would get annoying after a while... hmmmmmmm.
Sorry, I'm "talking" out loud here - don't mind me!

Smile Movers

Such great information. Thanks!

Anyone have information on movers (from NY to SF)?? I am trying to research on different moving companies. I want to see if it is economically feasible to move my stuff or sell everything and re-buy once in SF. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :-)
