I am considering to move out of country as an expat and need to store my furniture indefinitely some place. Since these are not that valuable items but bulky and lot of stuff + bay area storage are very expensive (50-100$ a month), I am considering to rent in other part of state. I am willing to travel perhaps up to 500$ for it to a place where the rent can run in 10-20$.

This is a stupid and/or radical thought, I am considering to drive some wilderness, record GPS position and leave the belongings there where no one can find it. THat would be free storage!

$50-$100 a month is cheap for a place large enough to store furniture, but have you thought about just selling it or giving it away?

Why don't you just give the furniture away & buy new "used" when you return. It hardly seems worthwhile to pay storage for cheap furniture. If you leave it in the open "wilderness" it will rot from the weather. Rain & sun.

Storing furniture in the wilderness would be illegal dumping. It is not worth paying the storage fee, just get rid of it & move
