Pretty funny yet makes one think.

I think that the west coast should secede. California, Oregon, and Washington would be a great country. Throw Vancouver in as well.

Actually similar to Cascadia:

California's debt would bankrupt the new country before it started. Awesome.

Hey, the debt is a LOT less than the current national debt. If anything we would be getting ourselves out of that mess.

And it's unlikely we'd choose to stay in Iraq, saving us MILLIONS a day...

Not if we got to pocket the $290 Billion we send in taxes to DC every year-btw we only get $240 Billion back in spending-which means $50 Billion of California's money is spent on bridges to nowhere in moocher states. Awesome indeed.

So its settled, I declare California an independent nation.

We would have the 7th best economy in the world.

You'd have the 7th biggest economy, and largest percentage of debt. I guess you should throw in some free healthcare too. That will always help out the debt problem.

Care to give me a link verifying that? I have real trouble taking that at face value, given how deep in debt it seems that every California city is, not to mention that they seem to overpay civic employees 10 fold.

Also, should we also talk about the amount of value that California gets from US infrastructure?
