Hey, I said I was just kidding... You'll feel more lonely if you take yourself too seriously.

I dont take myself seriously at all. Trust me. My husband and I joke around all the time....yet another thing we dont like about the area. People are too sensitive and you cannot joke with them.

For example, yesterday I am at whole foods in walnut creek, and I asked the girl behind the counter if the cupcakes were made with "real" ingredients. I was smiling, indicating I was joking. She was so horrified, and clearly didnt get my satire, like I had just called her ugly or something....when a normal person would know I meant sugar instead of apple juice for sweetener etc. This happens to my husband and I all the time up here. I have tons of examples...this is just the most recent.

Yeah, I guess I don't get all your "funny" comments about gay, liberal, 'too many unattractive lesbians' , tech nerds comments on all of your other posts.

I am also a tech nerd having worked as a marketing VP at tech companies for the past 8 years. So what is your point?

This is a great forum because people give the inside scoop based on their experiences. You are taking this way to personally.

My point is that you talk about hating it here (in the Bay Area) and are concerned about living in a "liberal" area (I totally make a joke about not wanting conservatives living next to me and YOU get you knickers in a twist). I was kidding- I said that in my first post on the matter.

You have pretty much complained about the gay, effeminate men, horrible crime, liberals, ugly lesbians, and horrible wimpy men in Silicon Valley that have no testosterone. Kinda sounds like this isn't your kind of place from your complaints. Yet you are asking for the "inside scoop". Sounds like you already feel that you know the "inside scoop" of the Bay Area and more interested in bashing it for what your experience has been.

Sounds like you don't like it here, (which is completely okay and totally understandable) but want to make some sort of commentary on why it sucks for you and should for everyone else.

The real inside scoop that you are looking for is that it is generally liberal but people don't necessarily announce it.

Gay/lesbians are everywhere and they can be just as good looking as you and your perfect sounding hot husband, and that Silicon Valley is the hub of the world for the tech industry and I'm sure there is a decent guy working in that industry for some sad single gal out here.

Crime is everywhere in California and I doubt that it's more pervasive than in your So Cal where cars only get keyed. Oh, and I think there are probably a few "normal" folks working in Whole foods that might not get that sugar is not a "real" ingredient as opposed to apple juice. (fyi, sugar IS a real ingredient since it comes from sugar cane or sugar beets- not synthetic. Hence, "my point".

The Bay Area is VERY PC and some people just can't take an off color joke here as well as other areas. Too much crap is considered "racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.."

Wow, "some sad single gal out there"? You were referring to my post about finding men in SJ, weren't you?

I sure hope most people in the Bay Area aren't as judgmental as you.

I wonder how "happy" your life could be if you are so harsh towards others.

Example of this:

I was on Muni talking to my friends. They mentioned a man from one of our classes and I said "Oh, the Israelian or Iranian guy?" and everybody turned to look at me.

LOL. I am not racist at all, but the man had previously identified him as Iranian, so I used that as a way to identify him.

After reading the above posts I think WC best meets your requirements. Check out Livorna Estates & area around Lavender Dr. in Walnut Creek. These are WC address but with San Ramon Valley School District Schools (Alamo Elementary is excellent- - not impressed with Stone Valley Middle- - high schools all fine). You are 5 minutes to Alamo or downtown WC & 10 minutes to Lafayette or Danville. Homes in $850k-1m range). Best of luck!
