El Sobrante

I grew up in El Sobrante back in the 60s and 70s and loved it. A great place for boys of those days to grow up - mostly rural and tons of places to play and run around and whatnot. (This is back when kids played outside on their own from the end of school until dark or dinner, and all day all summer. These days where kids can't get farther than four feet from a parent, that aspect may not that useful.)

When I drive though there today it really looks like it has not changed much at all. A few business have change hands, etc, but still has the same look and feel. One note for parents though - all the schools are crap. Not so much when I was there, but that is one area where things have gone way downhill.
