I am headed to SF tomorrow for a conference. I am staying at the Parc 55 hotel downtown.

I am going alone, so I won't be looking to pack my schedule every night, and I'm only in town through Tuesday (flying back to St. Louis around noon Wednesday). The conference will go on during the day.

Does anyone have some (cheap) suggestions for what to do? I don't want to break the bank because I don't want to spend any of my own money, I want it to be company sponsored completely and the company tends to not want to pay for any entertainment unless you are entertaining on the company's behalf.

How far is the Fisherman's Wharf? And an even better question, what the hell is the Fisherman's Wharf (I'll Google it in about 5 seconds and have my answer, but why not?). How far is Chinatown?

Are there any good restaurants in walking distance to the Parc 55?

This is my first time west of Kansas City, so I'm pretty excited about it.

From the Parc 55, walk about a block east to Powell and Market St. (There is a SF visitor bureau office below at the BART subway entrance - get some brochures and maps). From here, take the cable car ($5 one way) to California St (top of Nob Hill) and walk about 2 blocks downhill (east) to Chinatown. After you've seen Chinatown, get back on the cable car and go all the way to end at Fisherman's Wharf. Lots to see and you can kill a whole day walking around the tourist areas, but food in the tourist areas can be overpriced and mediocre.

Return to the Parc 55 hotel on the cable car (another $5)

Thank you! Apparently the forum isn't very lively today.

Can anyone suggest 1 good restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf and 1 good restaurant in Chinatown? Prefer $30 or less per person because the company is paying for it and don't really know their rules on that.

Also, are these places easy to catch a cab?

Chinatown is very close, to get there form the parc 55 walk up the hill a few blocks, then turn right until Grant street. Head up grant street, the chinatown gate is at Bush and Grant. My directions saves you a bit of a hill climb.

Fisherman's wharf is a cab ride (hyde and northpoint st), should cost around $9. You can try the Blue Marmaid in the Argonaut Hotel or one of the others located properly on the Wharf. I've never eaten the food at any of them. Maybe yelp.com or something can help you with picking one.
