when you ask questions, make sure you are being genuine. otherwise it feelis like i just got dragged under your bridge.

Default definitely a troll

Did no one notice that this supposed bus from the East Coast drove "past" San Francisco on the way to Oakland? Uh... Oakland's EAST of SF. This troll needs a map.

We could see SF skyline from the bus.

Default Nope

Not possible--the greyhound station is deep in the heart of Oakland's downtown, and the freeway you'd take in from the east coast has no view of the bay.

most buses, if they are greyhound, stop in oakland before going into the city. SF is the final destination.
it would be silly to go into SF and then turn around and head out of the peninsula into the east bay. makes no sense.

i know im a frequent GH rider

good sleuthing!!!

Default I like it here

Well low and behold I am a white male and I live in Oakland. After living in DC and KC, some pretty rough towns in themselves, I just did not want to commute long distance anymore. I live in Jack London, and walk to work downtown in 15 mins. I have not had really any problems at all living here and I have grown rather fond of Oakland.

It is what it is, it is a major city with a top ten crime stat, as do KC and DC. One major difference is here you get a mix of people because unlike the midwest the burbs in the east bay that are affordable have crazy a$$ commutes. So you get a huge mixture of urbanites, city dwellers, and young professionals.

Should you be scared? No, but always be aware. My gripes are the occasional bum that begs me for money, but after I have be seen as a local, have not been asked at all.

Also Jack London Square is NOISY.. If I had to do it all over again, I would be right here where I am... If prices drop even lower, I will be buying something downtown..

Oakland has a chance to be a great city, I think it just has lost a little pride..
