Do a lot of people use the buses? Over here the bus system is pretty bad. They are dirty, run down, and full of crime. Seems like it might be a little different in SF.
"A little" indeed

Many of the buses are PACKED. You will be amazed how many people use them.

Thanks again everyone.

I'm a little confused on the difference between cable car, street car, and trolly if someone wouldn't mind clearing that up for me.

What about the Muni Light Rail? How are they? Seems like everyone always talks about the BART, but not the Muni. Yet, the Muni seems to cover more of SF. Are those day passes good for that as well?

A streetcar (or "tram" if you're British) is the same as Muni light rail (also known as Muni Metro). A cable car San Francisco Cable Cars is the old type of trolly that the tourists ride. The only thing left in SF are busses.

Here's a Muni light rail map. You can go all the way to the west and see the ocean!!

When you get back home, tell us about your trip and what your impression of SF was like.
